The Foot Clinic The Foot Clinic was established in 2006 by James J Pedley MCFHP, MAFHP, to provide chiropody and podiatry services to the people of North Kildare. The Foot Clinic now operated under the umbrella of the Leinster Clinic Health Centre and delivers its services as part of the Leinster Clinic multi-disciplinary team What is Chiropody? Chiropody is the treatment of foot problems to provide comfort. This includes nail care, removal of hard skin/corns, and treatment of verruca infection and application of pads. At The Foot Clinic we believe that educating our patients about proper foot care is an important aspect in providing optimal foot comfort. Your foot comfort is important to your well being both on and off the job, and because of this it is our mission to maximize your comfort level. Proper foot care is an investment in your overall well being. Most of us take our feet for granted until they become a problem. If you take good care of your feet they will take good care of you for many years to come. The Place To Come When You Have Foot Problem When it comes to treating your foot problem a visit to the Foot Clinic is a must. Whether you have painful calluses, toenail problems, arch, heel, or ankle pain, blisters or corns, we will provide you with the quality care you need to feel better and get you back on your feet. At our modern facilities, located in The Leinster Clinic we can provide all the necessities for comprehensive foot care. The Children’s Clinic Because foot health begins in childhood, regular checkups and the prompt treatment of conditions like verruca infection or ingrown nails should be addressed at the first sign of trouble, as this can provide a lifetime of trouble-free walking. Parents should not wait to see if a child’s foot or walking problem will correct itself over time. Unfortunately, children often develop a manner of walking that compensates for a particular problem, and this frequently leads to more severe problems later in life. The Care of the Elderly As we get older we develop different problems. Bunions become more painful and corns are more difficult to deal with. The task of simply trimming our nails becomes a vast undertaking, and reaching the feet can often be an impossible task. At the Foot Clinic we offer the time and care to ensure that this is not a troublesome task . The Diabetes Clinic Did you know that certain foot disorders often are early signs of diabetes? Patients with diabetes sometimes suffer from sores that don’t heal, numbness, weakness, burning or coldness, blisters, dry skin, itching and other disorders of the feet. If left untreated, these patients are at risk of infection and other severe foot problems. The Diabetes Clinic at Foot Clinics provides early detection for the many foot problems that commonly affect the diabetic patient.
